📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for wearable sensing devices • Integrate microcontrollers and sensors and implement real-time data acquisition • Build reliable device-to-cloud communication and data streaming for synchronized vision and tactile data • Design and operate AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, Lambda, and IoT Core • Handle large-scale collection, storage, and processing of multimodal data with focus on scalability, security, and performance • Develop APIs, ingestion services, and Python data pipelines for high-throughput, reliable processing • Remotely deploy, monitor, and maintain device fleets and capture setups at real-world collection sites • Convert field issues into engineering fixes • Troubleshoot issues across device firmware through cloud deployment • Work with hardware, ML, and data teams to define system requirements • Contribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of data collection infrastructure • Act as technical owner of regional deployments • Occasional travel to sites may be required

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering experience across embedded systems and cloud • Strong embedded and firmware skills: C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, real-time systems, sensor integration, and low-level programming • Hands-on AWS experience with EC2, S3, Lambda, IoT Core, and high-throughput, reliable data pipelines • Solid software engineering experience in Python or similar, including APIs, data streaming services, and hardware-to-cloud integration • Good grasp of networking, security best practices, performance optimization, monitoring, and logging • Strong debugging skills across hardware, firmware, and cloud layers • Strong ownership and ability to work independently in a remote-first, distributed environment • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Fluent English required • Korean or Mandarin is a strong plus • Experience with robotics, tactile or force sensing, wearables, or IoT devices is a plus • Experience building real-world data collection systems is a plus • Exposure to ML data pipelines or datasets for robot learning is a plus • Experience deploying and supporting hardware in the field, including remote device management, is a plus
