Prevail Fund is an organization that mobilizes philanthropic capital and field implementation capacity to pursue ambitious, measurable global goals—beginning with improving foundational literacy and numeracy in low- and middle-income countries. Prevail makes targeted grants to field implementers, works directly on the ground to build their capacity to scale over 10+ years, and coordinates donor teams to leverage government and private-sector spending. Its founding board is composed of experienced social entrepreneurs and implementers, and its first program aims to raise and deploy $1B in philanthropy to improve instruction for at least 27. 5 million children across 11 countries in Africa and South Asia.

📋 Description

• Work closely with the research team to support the calls, field visits, and operational assessments. • Co-lead screening calls with senior leaders of livelihoods organizations to assess delivery models. • Ensure efficient, effective field visits through thorough preparation and tools. • Write the operational read-ups for each organization. • Help identify implementers, funders, and field experts for sector conversations. • Join visits to implementing organizations, compare delivery models, and write up each visit. • Contribute to the first cut of the fund design and draft the implementation sections of the decision memo.

🎯 Requirements

• 8-15+ years working with NGOs, philanthropy, or implementing organizations in low- and middle-income countries, in program management, field operations, or implementation. • Experience working with on-the-ground NGO teams in low- and middle-income countries, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or South Asia, assessing or supporting how programs are delivered. • Builds rapport quickly with NGO leaders and staff, leads productive conversations, and accurately identifies operational strengths and weaknesses. • Strong at planning and running multi-country field visits end-to-end. • Translates site visits into clear, structured operational reads, is comfortable with travel, and works well with the ambiguity of early-stage scoping.
