📋 Description

• Develop and enhance data models using SQL, dbt, and BigQuery • Build and maintain dimensional models, working with facts, dimensions, grains, keys, and relationships • Migrate approximately 500 million historical competitor price records to BigQuery • Define the data modeling and pipeline architecture for historical pricing data • Build a dashboard analyzing market prices, likely using Power BI • Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines • Work with incremental loads, partitioning, and clustering, considering data warehouse cost and performance • Create and maintain automated tests and ensure data model quality • Participate in code reviews, pull requests, and other software engineering practices • Collaborate with technology and product teams to understand and define business rules before implementation • Participate in pairing sessions and the team's technical discussions • Contribute to the evolution of Valora's data architecture and data engineering practices

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced SQL, including window functions, CTEs, aggregations, and the ability to read and debug complex queries • Experience with dimensional modeling, including facts, dimensions, grain definition, keys, and relationships • Experience with or strong familiarity with software engineering practices applied to data, including Git, pull requests, code reviews, and testing • Knowledge of columnar data warehouses, particularly partitioning, clustering, incremental loads, cost, and performance concepts • Python for data ingestion and automation • Ability to understand and discuss business rules before defining a technical solution • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and in pairs • Openness to receiving and exchanging technical guidance • Experience with dbt • Experience with BigQuery or another cloud-based columnar data warehouse • Knowledge of CDC (Change Data Capture) • Experience with a semantic layer / Headless BI • Experience with Power BI, DAX, and semantic modeling • Experience with Streamlit • Knowledge of Docker • Experience with GitHub Actions and CI
