📋 Description

• Navigate Age Assurance & Verification Law: Monitor and interpret the fast-moving global landscape (including US state laws like Louisiana, Utah, California, and Alabama; France's upcoming requirements; the UK Online Safety Act; and Apple/Google app store frameworks), translating strict deadlines into concrete product and operational requirements. • Manage Biometric & Privacy Compliance: Oversee privacy compliance as it applies to identity and photo verification, including GDPR, CNIL guidance on biometric retention, and US biometric statutes (BIPA and equivalents), ensuring data minimization and compliant retention schedules for our verification vendors (e.g., Veriff). • Handle Child Safety Obligations: Oversee our CSAM detection, reporting, and preservation duties (including NCMEC CyberTipline as a registered ESP and EU equivalents), while managing underage account incidents with absolute precision. • Steer Platform Regulation: Own compliance for global platform laws, including the EU Digital Services Act (transparency reporting, notice and action, statement of reasons), UK OSA duties, and dating-app-specific legislation (e.g., US state laws on background check disclosures, safety notices, and romance scam warnings). • Oversee Law Enforcement & Government Requests: Define the legal basis for disclosures, cross-border data requests, and preservation orders, providing clear guidance to the moderation team on high-priority escalations. • Govern Content Policy & Moderation Legality: Advise on ban/appeal processes, user communications in highly sensitive cases (assault reports, safety incidents), and ensure the legal defensibility of our enforcement decisions. • Drive Horizon Scanning: Proactively flag new legislation and enforcement trends across our top 20 markets, delivering practical "what we must do and by when" guidance rather than academic memos.

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of experience in tech and platform regulation, ideally with direct experience at a dating app, social platform, UGC service, or a law firm advising them. • Deep familiarity with GDPR and EU platform law, with a strong working knowledge of US state-level online safety/privacy legislation and the UK OSA. Multi-jurisdiction comfort is essential. • Direct experience advising Trust & Safety or content moderation teams specifically, rather than just handling general commercial or standard privacy work. • Comfortable working with adult content and sex-positive products; able to advise pragmatically, objectively, and without moralizing. • Able to give operational, risk-calibrated, and highly actionable advice to non-lawyers (product managers, engineers, moderators) and draft clear user- and regulator-facing language.

🏖️ Benefits

• Remote work • Yearly performance bonus • The chance to work on a product in its growth stage, with real influence on its direction • Yearly education budget • A multinational, diverse workplace
