📋 Description

• Rackner is seeking a Cloud Architect to gather requirements and designs Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud-based system deployments and system transitions. • The Cloud Solution Architect will architect and plan migrations to commercial cloud service providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Office 365, GCP, or similar cloud platforms. • Act as a technical/supervisory lead role on a team of architects, leading the design and solution recommendations. • Work with end users and application experts to elicit requirements for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in cloud based systems. • Lift and shift planning for data migration to and from cloud-based systems. • Ingress and egress planning for data migration to and from cloud-based systems. • Select appropriate cloud services based on data, compute, database, or security requirements. • Manage the integration with on-premises enterprise networks and systems. • Identify appropriate use of cloud architectural best practices. • Estimate cloud costs and identify cost control measures and solutions. • Provide tasking and oversight to other technical team members that are performing the design and architecture. • Provide technical clarity and direction to Cloud Iaas, PaaS, and SaaS Consultants. • Review final work products for accuracy and adherence to design concepts.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems) • Master’s degree and 10 years’ experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 14 years of professional experience with: research, design and development of computer and network software or specialized utility which may include database maintenance within an application area • Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting • Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DevOps/DevSecOps)
