📋 Description
• Review material customer contracts and orders to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 • Perform monthly revenue close activities including: • Revenue recognition, deferrals, and releases • Reconciliations of deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and AR • Journal entries and flux analysis • Partner with Sales Ops on complex deal structures • Collaborate with Product on new offerings to determine proper revenue treatment • Support billing accuracy and order-to-cash process integrity • Maintain and improve revenue accounting policies and procedures • Assist with external audits related to revenue and billing • Support system implementations or enhancements (ERP, billing, revenue automation tools) • Participate in the research and preparation of technical accounting memos related to revenue recognition and associated accounting items (deferred commissions, etc.) • Prepare revenue reporting (ARR, bookings, churn) and support FP&A forecasting and analysis • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and scalability
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred) • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with direct SaaS revenue accounting experience • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 • Experience with subscription billing models, renewals, and amendments • Proficiency with ERP systems and billing/revenue tools (NetSuite) • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation abilities • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners
