• Lead engineering efforts to make AI a production capability across Reap • Own the AI platform layer, including MCP servers, agentic workflows, internal AI infrastructure, and enablement • Set technical direction and participate in code and design reviews • Work across Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Support • Own the design, security model, and roadmap of the agentic data layer • Define authentication, permissions, rate limits, auditing, and security standards for MCP servers and agent-facing tools • Expand agentic data coverage across cards, payments, treasury, onboarding, compliance, and support • Build evaluation and observability systems for answer quality, tool-call correctness, latency, and failure modes • Redesign operational workflows so agents execute SOPs with human approval checkpoints • Translate SOPs and operational pain points into scoped agentic workflows • Design auditability features including error handling, retries, rollback, audit trails, and escalation paths • Own internal AI infrastructure for shared model access, secrets and data handling, deployment paths, and secure hosting • Support teams building AI-enabled internal dashboards and tools • Establish AI governance, risk classification, data-flow documentation, access controls, and production logging • Set standards for customer PII and regulated data handling in partnership with Security, Compliance, and Legal • Improve engineering AI fluency through skills, workflows, tooling, and documentation • Hire, grow, and lead a small senior team • Report impact through reduced review time, increased throughput, shorter cycle time, and returned capacity
• 8+ years of software engineering experience • 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role • Demonstrated experience designing, deploying, and driving adoption of AI or agentic systems in production • Hands-on proficiency with Claude and other LLM APIs, AWS Bedrock, MCP or equivalent agent-tooling layers, Python or TypeScript orchestration, and workflow engines such as n8n • Deep understanding of LLM failure modes, including hallucination, tool misuse, prompt injection, and silent degradation • Strong systems thinking and ability to move from discovery through optimisation without relying on external consultants • Ability to work directly with non-technical operators and translate workflows into buildable systems • Sound judgement on data classification, access control, and audit requirements in a regulated financial environment • High standards for code quality, reliability, and peer review • Clear communication and respectful challenge of ideas • Nice to have: experience with MCP servers, agent tooling layers, or LLM gateways at production scale • Nice to have: background in payments, cards, fintech, or another regulated financial environment • Nice to have: familiarity with AML/KYC, fraud, or reconciliation workflows • Nice to have: experience deploying automation in a SOX-regulated or equivalent compliance environment • Nice to have: internal platform or developer-experience experience • Nice to have: experience running security reviews or standing up paved-road deployment paths • Nice to have: familiarity with LLM evaluation, tracing, and observability tooling such as LangSmith, Braintrust, or OpenTelemetry • Nice to have: experience leading teams in high-growth environments • Nice to have: experience establishing an AI enablement, automation, or internal platform function from scratch • Main stack: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and AWS
