📋 Description

• Advise the executive team on financial strategy, capital deployment, and fund structuring • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls across the business and funds • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making, including capital raising and deal structuring • Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process at both the firm and fund levels • Oversee all fund accounting activities, ensuring compliance with local and international standards (IFRS, South African GAAP, etc.) • Monitor and review the preparation of financial statements for funds and SPVs, including capital accounts and NAV calculations • Manage drawdowns, distributions, and capital calls in accordance with LP agreements • Collaborate with fund administrators and auditors to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and investor reports • Ensure compliance with South African regulatory frameworks (e.g., FSCA, SARS, Companies Act) • Support audit processes for the management company and investment funds • Maintain governance across all fund entities, including documentation, reporting obligations, and statutory compliance • Support investor reporting, performance analysis, and ad hoc LP requests • Prepare materials for investment committees, board meetings, and investor updates • Oversee treasury and cash management across fund and management company accounts • Guide tax planning and structuring in collaboration with external advisors • Evaluate and implement finance systems, reporting tools, and workflow improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a CFO or senior fund finance role • Strong track record in fund management, private equity, venture capital, or asset management • Deep knowledge of fund accounting, including capital account management, fee calculations, waterfalls, and carried interest • Familiarity with fund administration platforms and third-party administrator management • CA(SA) is strongly preferred • CFA, MBA, or other relevant post-graduate qualification an advantage • Experience with IFRS, South African tax and regulatory frameworks, and financial systems (e.g. Xero, Sage, or fund accounting software)
