📋 Description

• Perform analysis and reconciliation of AR and AP. • Review and analyze USSGL postings and account balances. • Prepare and process journal vouchers and accrual accounting entries. • Perform account reconciliations, investigate abnormal balances, and recommend corrective actions. • Perform intragovernmental transaction reconciliations and research discrepancies. • Support the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and related supporting schedules. • Respond to audit requests by researching transactions, preparing supporting documentation, and coordinating timely responses. • Work collaboratively with DFAS and DoW stakeholders to resolve accounting issues. • Support the Financial Reporting Team with recurring and ad hoc accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities. • Assist in evaluating, documenting, and improving internal controls over financial reporting. • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and desk procedures. • Perform financial reconciliations and quality control reviews to provide reasonable assurance of the accuracy and completeness of DoW financial statements. • Analyze accounting transactions and recommend corrective actions. • Learn new financial systems, policies, and accounting requirements quickly. • Support other accounting and financial management tasks as assigned, including developing and uploading financial reports. • Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. • 2–5 years of accounting or federal financial management experience. • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accrual accounting, and General Ledger concepts. • Experience performing account reconciliations, financial analysis, and researching accounting discrepancies. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis. • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently in a collaborative remote environment. • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
