GB-SMIT is a leading transformer manufacturer in Europe with a worldwide clientele of utility companies and industries. The SGB-SMIT staff of approx. 1,900 employees produces power transformers, cast resin and oil distribution transformers in five factories, located in four countries. The production sites are Regensburg and Neumark (Germany), Nijmengen (Netherlands), Nilai (Malaysia), Luisville Ohio (USA), and now Sibiu (Romania) – the 6th factory in the 5th country.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement data science and AI models for industrial use cases • Translate business problems into analytical approaches and solutions • Perform data exploration, preparation, and feature engineering • Work with Data Engineers to ensure availability and usability of data • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure relevance and impact • Support the deployment of models into production environments • Monitor and improve model performance over time • Contribute to the development of scalable AI capabilities and best practices • Communicate results and insights in a clear and business-oriented way

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field • Several years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied analytics • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL) • Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling • Familiarity with industrial or operational data is a strong plus • Experience with model deployment and MLOps concepts is beneficial • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in cross-functional teams • Strong communication skills and business understanding
