📋 Description

• Take ownership of key parts of the platform, from system design and architecture to production code and long-term reliability. • Own parts of the platform architecture as the team grows. • Own the map and geometry layer, including extracting geometry from documents, placing it at real latitude and longitude, measuring it, and exporting it for field use. • Own geospatial distance, routing, and hauling-related functionality. • Make significant architectural decisions and maintain production code. • Maintain code quality through reviews, engineering standards, and CI. • Implement monitoring, observability, and systems designed to fail safely when outputs cannot be determined reliably. • Maintain end-to-end ownership of systems built.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production software, with increasing ownership of architecture and technical decisions. • Strong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js. • Hands-on experience working with maps, coordinates, geometry, or geospatial data in a real-world application. • Experience with one or more of the following: GIS, GeoJSON, KML, routing, asset mapping, fleet tracking, logistics, agriculture, drones, or similar geospatial applications. • Experience working with messy real-world data, including inconsistent formats, missing fields, and unreliable or incomplete sources. • Experience building systems where incorrect outputs can have meaningful business consequences. • Strong judgment around data quality, correctness, and when a system should explicitly indicate that an answer cannot be determined. • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. • Clear and effective async communication.
