📋 Description

• Provide technical governance and assurance across client data centre environments • Lead or support day-to-day operational management of assigned sites and client accounts • Support due diligence reviews for acquisitions, new builds and upgrades • Conduct technical and operational performance assessments • Develop recommendations and action plans addressing risks, inefficiencies and resilience gaps • Oversee maintenance delivery, change control, incident response, emergency preparedness and documentation management • Lead, develop and support operational and engineering teams • Establish expectations, accountabilities, performance measures and development plans • Work with HR on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, succession planning and retention • Maintain competency matrices and training plans • Support mobilisation and readiness assessments for new data centres, infrastructure upgrades and operational transitions • Evaluate operational processes, documentation and technical capability • Advise clients on operational excellence and continuous improvement • Evaluate infrastructure design, resilience, maintenance and lifecycle condition • Prepare technical due diligence reports and recommendations for clients and investors • Lead or support post-incident reviews, fault investigations and operational-failure reviews • Act as High Voltage Authorised Person for assigned sites or advisory projects, where appointed • Manage HV/MV personnel appointment, authorisation and competency verification • Maintain safe systems of work, electrical safety documentation, switching schedules and permit systems • Conduct or support electrical safety audits • Act as senior operational contact for assigned clients • Lead client meetings, performance reviews, service-improvement discussions and incident communications • Manage vendor, subcontractor and service-partner relationships • Liaise with finance and commercial teams on billing, purchase orders, cost tracking, budgets and financial reporting • Support payroll and people-related processes with HR and finance • Contribute to account plans, proposals and strategic development • Complete structured development in AI and its data-centre applications • Identify opportunities for AI, automation and data-led insight to improve reporting, maintenance planning, risk management, knowledge management and productivity • Apply AI and digital tools in line with confidentiality, data security and governance requirements • Contribute to internal standards, templates, methodologies, knowledge-sharing and competency development

🎯 Requirements

• Strong technical understanding of data centre mechanical and electrical systems and operational interfaces • Experience in technical due diligence, operational readiness, mobilisation and performance evaluation • Knowledge of colocation operations, lifecycle management and industry best-practice frameworks • Understanding and application of ISO 9001, ISO 55000, ISO 50001 and Uptime Institute operational guidelines • Hold, or be qualified for appointment as, a High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP), with proven HV and MV systems experience • Experience preparing and issuing safety documentation and implementing isolation procedures • Ability to assess competence and manage authorised personnel • Experience leading operational teams and managing performance, development, training and succession planning • Experience managing client relationships, suppliers, service partners and senior internal stakeholders • Commercial awareness, including budgets, billing, financial controls, vendor performance and account development • Interest in AI, automation and operational data • Effective communication with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders • Minimum of seven years’ experience in data centre or critical-infrastructure operations • Proven experience in technical due diligence, operational readiness, operational management or advisory services • Experience leading technical or operational teams in a client-facing environment • Recognised High Voltage Authorised Person qualification, or equivalent experience and suitability for appointment • Familiarity with ISO and Uptime Institute operational standards • Experience in stakeholder engagement, reporting, technical governance and vendor management • Experience supporting budgets, billing, procurement or account performance • Fluent English • Willingness to travel across Europe • Successful completion of background vetting as a condition of employment • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering is preferred; HNC, HND or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered • Additional European languages are beneficial
