• Continuously evolve external communications to promote key stakeholder understanding of and engagement with Santen. • Plan and execute media relations and public relations activities aligned to the external communications strategy. • Prepare, create and deliver communications materials such as press releases and Q&As. • Utilize company communication channels, including website and social media, to distribute the latest company-related news. • Work closely with Santen’s PR agency to plan and execute strategic media relations/external exposure. • Work in partnership with other functions and departments to ensure consistency in external messages and align communication activities with internal stakeholders. • Conduct day-to-day administrative operations in support of the department.
• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, journalism or related field. • Japanese native and English fluency (written and verbal) • Minimum 5 years of working experience in communications or public relations in a multi-national company in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry or at a PR agency in the same field. • Knowledge of and experience with pharmaceutical affairs, regulations and guidelines. • Networks in the pharmaceutical media and life science community. • Experience in media relations, including the handling of press releases, press conferences, financial results, events, media tie-ups, etc. • Experience in risk management communications and crisis communications. • Experience in digital and social media communications. • Strong Japanese/English writing skills for press releases and company information, with specific relevance to corporate communications in the pharmaceutical industry. • Adept storytelling and content creation aligned to the corporate communications strategy. • A self-starter with project management skills and the ability to execute in a complex environment. • Business sense, ability to multi-task, and a collaborative mindset adept at moving with agility, flexibility, and ownership. • Capacity to manage global projects in a cross-cultural environment while working with diverse internal stakeholders.
