📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services in PHP • Write efficient, scalable, and secure server-side logic for a high-volume financial platform • Design relational database schemas, write complex queries, and optimise performance • Integrate third-party services, payment systems, data providers, and internal APIs • Collaborate with front-end engineers on system integration • Participate in code reviews and uphold backend engineering standards • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and security vulnerabilities • Contribute to technical documentation and maintain well-structured codebases

🎯 Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of backend development experience with a strong PHP focus • Deep understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices • Solid experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimisation • Strong grasp of backend security fundamentals, including authentication, authorisation, data handling, and input validation • Experience working with Git in a team development environment • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-tested code • Strong analytical and debugging skills with a systematic approach to problem solving • Experience in fintech, trading, or regulated financial services environments is advantageous • Familiarity with microservices architecture or event-driven systems is advantageous • Exposure to AWS, GCP, or Azure is advantageous • Experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka is advantageous • Knowledge of Redis or Memcached caching strategies is advantageous • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Docker is advantageous
