📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs • Build backend systems using a microservices architecture • Support backend infrastructure for a large-scale, high-throughput AI data platform • Apply distributed systems principles involving consistency, partitioning, replication, consensus, and failure handling • Build fault-tolerant, highly available, and scalable distributed systems • Build and operate production workloads on Kubernetes • Manage deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, and Helm in managed Kubernetes environments such as EKS • Support containerized production environments using Docker • Optimize application performance and improve backend reliability, scalability, and availability • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and support GitOps-based, Kubernetes-native deployment workflows • Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and visibility into production system health and performance • Partner with engineering leadership on architectural decisions • Share technical knowledge with less-experienced colleagues and delegate work effectively • Use AI tools in daily engineering workflows while following established governance practices and approved API/MCP access flows

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus • 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience running production workloads • Deep hands-on experience designing and working with distributed systems • Experience with managed Kubernetes environments such as EKS, GKE, or AKS • Experience designing and developing microservices architectures • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases • Exceptional computer science fundamentals and a systems-minded approach • Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consistency models, partitioning, replication, consensus, CAP theorem, and failure handling • Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language; Go or Python strongly preferred, with C++ or Rust also applicable • Strong hands-on Kubernetes capabilities across deployments, services, ingress, autoscaling, Helm, and production workload management • Experience with Docker and containerized applications • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication patterns • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code; Terraform preferred • Ability to use AI tools effectively while critically reviewing output and following governance requirements • Resume must be submitted in English and PDF format • Must be available to work 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST / U.S. business hours • Must complete the application form and record a video showcasing skills
