📋 Description

• The Sustainable Seafood Chain of Custody Auditor is a contract position, working independently or in teams. • The auditor travels to client offices, processing plants, and consumer-facing organizations to assess practices and systems relative to the MSC, ASC, and RFM certification standards. • Assessments involve document review, employee and contractor interviews, and on-site evaluation of field activities. • Detailed assessment reports must be written and submitted on time. • SCS provides ongoing training. • Audit Coordination • Schedule and confirm audit date with client • Prepare and send client audit plan according to protocols • Book travel, hotel, and transportation according to company policy, and submit expense reports • Audit services • Adhere to all quality and code of conduct standards • Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and tools • Maintain positive client relationships and respond to all client inquiries and concerns • Submit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelines • Ensure thorough client records are maintained • Attend trainings to maintain qualification to conduct audits; maintain training records • Maintain up to date knowledge of applicable regulations and standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in environmental or biological science, marine biology, business, economics, or technical program with two years of work experience in any of the following: seafood or fisheries industry, food industry, supply chain management, science, traceability, policy development OR • Must be able to speak and write in English at a professional level. • Masters degree or equivalent in business, economics, environmental or biological science, or technical program OR • 2+ years of work experience applicable to the description above • Complete fluency in English with professional work experience that involves verbal and written communication • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills • Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, and Excel • Strong attention to detail, customer service, and teamwork orientation • Ability to take the initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment • Ability to work in the US and abroad as needed • ISO training certification or willingness to complete the ISO training offered by SCS • Additional Preferred Qualifications • Language skills in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, French, or Japanese • Previous audit experience
