📋 Description

• Secfix automates security compliance (ISO 27001, GDPR, TISAX, SOC 2) for SMBs in Europe by integrating with tech stacks and creating compliance checklists. • Early-stage fully remote startup with >$1M ARR and $4.4M raised from investors. • As Senior Backend Engineer, help shape and build product delivered to CTOs, COOs and engineering teams of SMBs. • Day-to-day: be the go-to person for backend in your product area, set technical direction with CTO/Tech Lead, and work closely with product, design and customers to plan, design, build and ship features. • Responsibilities: deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, debug, support, maintain and evolve features; own documentation; mentor and support other team members; leverage AI-powered engineering tools.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years of industry experience as a backend or product engineer, building user-facing products. • 5+ years of full-time experience as a backend-focused engineer (senior level). • 1+ years of full-time production experience in Java. • Strong object oriented programming fundamentals in Java. • Spring Boot, Hibernate (or equivalent) experience. • Relational Database Design and SQL optimisation. • Testing, monitoring and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to design and build backend systems that can scale in features and concurrent usage. • Experience owning features end-to-end, from idea to execution to delivery in production. • Experience communicating software design ideas and adapting to feedback before coding. • Extensive experience with AI-powered engineering tools (Cursor, Claude), including validating outputs. • Previous experience with Golang and/or Typescript is a bonus. • Preferred: experience working at fully remote companies, early-stage startups, and building functional AI features (especially if deployed to production).
