• Handle losses and claims for property and casualty insurers • Examine insurance policies and other records to determine insurance coverage • Interview, telephone, and/or correspond with claimant and witnesses regarding claim • Consult police and hospital records and inspects property damage to determine extent of liability • Prepare report of findings and negotiate settlement with claimant • Recommend litigation when settlement cannot be negotiated • Attend litigation hearings • Revise case reserves in assigned claims files
• 1 to 2 years experience in property adjusting • Proven adjusting, negotiating skills and analytical skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Advanced computer skills including office, outlook and web-based applications • Enrolled in CIP program
