📋 Description

• Take ownership of the search infrastructure for Ask Seeking Alpha, a financial intelligence platform powered by LLMs • Develop the retrieval layer of the RAG architecture • Design and implement hybrid search strategies combining keyword and semantic search • Build systems to measure and improve search-result relevance using tools such as LangSmith • Integrate OpenAI embeddings into Elasticsearch • Address indexing challenges for long documents such as earnings transcripts • Optimize Elasticsearch queries and index settings for low latency • Develop and maintain Python services that build queries and process results using FastAPI and Asyncio

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with search engines in production • Understanding of Elasticsearch indices, analyzers, and mappings • Understanding of lexical search and vector search, including when to use each • Strong experience with Python 3.10+ • Comfortable writing asynchronous code using async/await • Experience building APIs • Experience designing data schemas for search • Nice to have: experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines • Nice to have: familiarity with LangChain or similar LLM frameworks • Nice to have: experience with evaluation tools such as LangSmith • Nice to have: background in finance, including tickers and earnings calls
