• The Value Optimization Engineer (VOE) is responsible for planning, validating, and implementing cost reduction ideas to meet the Value Optimization Savings target by system and commodity area. • The selected candidate will collaborate with engineers, suppliers, vehicle integration, purchasing, quality, finance, etc. on thorough evaluation, validation and presentation of recommended ideas and their associated business cases. • Supports SR (System Responsible)/DR (Design Responsible) to summarize system/commodity level savings including potential at vehicle level for electrical components. • Generates and organizes ideas for system level proposals. • Partners with engineering and suppliers to schedule implementation of value optimization ideas. • Key to this position is an understanding and adherence to key product development principles and processes such as: functional objectives, DFMEA, DVP&R and an understanding of corporate and competitive products from a benchmarking, read across and best practice perspective. • Reports to the Global VO Manager/Drivers and referring to the NA Coordinator for HVAC and Engine Systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical preferred, Chemical can be evaluated) • 3 years of proven experience as part of an engineering team • Project management proven experience • English advanced. • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, e.g. Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Finance, etc. • Experience in cost savings • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail • Self-starter approach, high motivation, goal-oriented
