Shift Markets is an enterprise software provider that supplies white-label digital asset infrastructure and exchange technology to financial institutions, brokers, and fintechs. Its platform powers crypto spot and derivatives trading, market making, liquidity aggregation, back-office operations, and crypto payments (CryptoPay), plus licensing and regulatory support and integrations for wallets, KYC/KYT, and liquidity providers. Shift enables clients to launch and scale exchanges and crypto services quickly with pre-sourced liquidity, proven tech, and 24/7 support.

📋 Description

• Build & Scale Backend and Platform Systems • Design and build backend services and platform components using TypeScript, Python, or similar • Work on systems that support data processing, automation, and product scalability • Contribute to event-driven architectures and distributed systems • Build and improve ETL pipelines and data workflows • Help optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems • Work with cloud-native tooling across AWS (primary) • Build and maintain infrastructure using Amazon CDK, Terraform, or CDKTF Typescript • Create reusable infrastructure patterns and improve existing codebases • Support multiple environments with clear, maintainable configurations • Contribute to infrastructure and backend design decisions • Collaborate with developers and architects to improve system design • Help scale systems as product usage grows

🎯 Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. • Strong programming skills (TypeScript or Python preferred). • Basic understanding of event-driven systems or distributed architectures. • Ability to explain technical decisions clearly in English. • Exposure to fintech, crypto, or high-throughput systems is nice to have. • Exposure to Kubernetes, ECS, or serverless architectures is nice to have. • Familiarity with AI-enhanced development tooling and automation workflows is nice to have. • Full fluency in written and spoken English; this role requires clear, impromptu communication with individuals who have limited English proficiency. • 4 to 7+ years of experience in software engineering, backend engineering, or platform engineering. • Experience building backend systems, APIs, or data pipelines. • Experience working with AWS. • Hands-on experience with Terraform CDKTF or Amazon CDK is a strong plus. • Experience with CDKTF (TypeScript) or Amazon CDK is nice to have. • Experience working with ETL pipelines or data processing systems is nice to have. • Experience working on scaling production systems is nice to have.
