📋 Description

• Map and evaluate the current search system of Mercado IGA, including ranking mechanisms, semantic search, and result relevance. • Develop models for clustering equivalent offers to support the Buy Box and vendor comparison. • Create conceptual search mechanisms capable of transforming purchasing intents into structured product sets. • Develop automated cart-generation solutions from lists, commercial proposals, or natural language descriptions. • Build multi-criteria optimization models to recommend cart compositions considering lowest cost, shortest lead time, or fewest suppliers.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD completed or currently pursuing. • PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Applied Mathematics, or related fields. • Practical or academic experience with search systems, ranking, or recommender systems. • Proficiency in Python applied to modeling, AI, optimization, or data science. • Knowledge of embeddings, vector search, or similarity mechanisms. • Experience with optimization algorithms or operations research. • Knowledge of multi-agent systems or intelligent agent architectures. • Ability to model decision problems considering multiple criteria and constraints. • Availability for 40 hours per week. • Prior experience in marketplace, e-commerce, procurement, or supply chain (desirable). • Experience with Buy Box, product matching, item recommendation, or cart optimization (desirable). • Knowledge of multi-criteria optimization (desirable). • Experience with Elasticsearch, Typesense, or similar search technologies (desirable). • Knowledge of graphs, ontologies, or semantic product representations (desirable). • Publications, research, or applied projects in recommendation, optimization, agents, or intelligent search (desirable).

🏖️ Benefits

• Stipend of BRL 9,000 (PhD candidate) or BRL 11,000 (PhD completed) • Remote (fully remote) • 40 hours per week • Duration: 12 months
