📋 Description

• Provide critical live coverage of events occurring across the globe • Ensure the quality, timeliness and relevance of alerts, content and information • Mentor and support other analysts and help shape the Asia-Pacific team • Manage at least two analysts, providing performance feedback, coaching and goal setting • Hire, onboard and train new team members as required • Prioritize high-impact and relevant events using experience, judgement and playbooks • Gather, corroborate and curate social media information in real time • Build the breadth and depth of real-time crisis coverage • Contribute to shared resources improving content and information discovery • Participate in an internal working group focused on geopolitics, forward planning and forecasting, or climate disasters • Support day-to-day operations through real-time feedback, scheduling and rostering, leave approvals and interdepartmental liaison • Uphold company culture and values • Work with analysts via audio calls during shifts to monitor incidents and provide customer context in real time

🎯 Requirements

• Based in Australia • Relevant degree (political science, international relations, journalism, etc.) or demonstrated experience preparing real time reports or analysis for crisis management or in a newsroom environment • At least one year of management experience, including coaching and performance reviews • Right to work full time in Australia, without visa sponsorship or restrictions • Interest in breaking news and current affairs • Understanding of social media newsgathering and fact-finding • Ability to work independently and remotely as part of a diverse, globally distributed team • Interest in geopolitical issues and their impact on businesses, people and governments • Flexibility to cover shifts supporting the wider APAC team • Bonus: experience in corporate security or intelligence industries • Bonus: experience in a newsroom or OSINT environment • Bonus: proficiency in other languages
