📋 Description

• Full-time contractor Java backend engineer working remotely in Vietnam for Compass via Slasify. • Develop and maintain back-end systems and APIs using Java and related frameworks. • Perform unit testing and integration testing, and ensure clean code and strong engineering practices. • Use Docker, AWS S3, RDS for deployment and storage tasks, and collaborate via GitHub pull requests. • Collaborate with international teams, especially US-based teams, communicating in English and participating in remote video interviews. • Complete coding assessments and participate in code reviews as part of recruitment and ongoing development process. • Work ~8 hours/day with flexibility, daily communication and prompt response for team coordination.

🎯 Requirements

• Must be located anywhere in Vietnam and be Vietnamese citizen or hold valid Vietnam work visa. • Work 8 hours/day (40 hours/week), full-time contractor. • Fluent English for communication with international teams. • Strong logical thinking, problem analysis and communication skills. • Proficient in Java, backend and API development, familiar with Java ecosystem, frameworks and libraries. • Strong unit testing and integration testing skills. • Solid knowledge of data structures, programming skills, engineering capabilities, and clean coding practices. • Familiar with Docker, AWS S3, RDS, and related frameworks and components. • Proficient with Git commands and GitHub pull request workflows. • Ability to complete a coding task via GitHub pull request within 7 days during hiring process. • Preferably prior remote working experience. • Available to work overlapping US Eastern Time Zone hours.

• Remote Working Experience: Prior experience with remote work is preferred. • Available to work during US Eastern Time Zone overlap (9 pm - 5 am Vietnam Time) or at least a 5-hour overlap between 9 pm and 2 am Vietnam Time. • MacBook laptop provided after joining. • 12–20 days of bonus hours (paid time off). • Work equipment: MacBook provided. • Compensation paid in USD with conversion platform via Singapore-based firm.
