📋 Description
• Sleek makes the back-office easy for micro SMEs using proprietary software and AI to automate incorporation, accounting and payments • Operates three business segments: Corporate Secretary (incorporation, secretarial, filing, Nominee Director, SleekSign), Accounting & Bookkeeping (SleekBooks ledger, AI tools), FinTech payments (digital banking services for new businesses) • Founded 2017; ~15,000 customers across Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the UK; ~500 staff • Recently raised Series B after >70% CAGR in revenue over 5 years; backed by world-class investors and aiming to be a cash-flow-positive APAC unicorn • Role focus: Define greenfield GCP data architecture (batch + streaming), lead ETL/ELT pipeline design, implement governance and observability, enable analytics, and mentor a small data engineering team
🎯 Requirements
• 10+ years experience in data engineering, architecture, or platform roles • Strong expertise in GCP data stack: BigQuery, GCS, Dataplex, Data Catalog, Pub/Sub, Dataflow • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt and orchestration (Cloud Composer/Airflow/Dagster) • Deep knowledge of data modelling, warehousing, partitioning and clustering strategies • Experience with monitoring, reliability engineering, and observability for data systems (SLAs, SLOs, SLIs) • Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and security policies (IAM, row/column-level security, DLP, encryption) • Strong SQL skills and solid knowledge of Python for data engineering • Experience implementing metadata, lineage and discoverability (Dataplex, Data Catalog) • Experience with ingestion and streaming tools (Datastream, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Airbyte, Fivetran, Rivery) • Experience with transformations and orchestration (dbt, Composer/Airflow, Dagster) • Experience with data quality tools (dbt tests, Great Expectations, Soda) and monitoring • Nice-to-have: Snowflake, Databricks, AWS (Redshift, Glue, Athena), Azure Synapse • Nice-to-have: Open-source catalogs (DataHub, Amundsen, OpenMetadata) • Nice-to-have: Streaming systems experience (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink, Beam) • Nice-to-have: Exposure to data observability tools (Monte Carlo, Bigeye, Datafold, Databand) • Nice-to-have: Prior work with Looker, Hex or other BI/analytics tools • Nice-to-have: Startup or scale-up experience • Behavioural attributes: Ownership; Humility; Structured thinking; Attention to detail; Excellent listener and clear communicator
