• Maintain and evolve the metrics tree • Validate metrics and verify dashboards are built correctly • Write clear specifications for Data Engineering • Maintain one locked definition for each metric • Decompose the north-star metric to the level each team can influence • Investigate metric fluctuations and anomalies • Work directly with functional leads • Find and analyze bottlenecks, conversion drop-offs, and segmentation • Validate product hypotheses • Mine data for non-obvious patterns and growth opportunities • Prioritize problems jointly with Product based on potential impact on the north-star metric • Design A/B tests, including sample size, MDE, duration, and randomization split calculations • Verify split correctness and run sanity checks before analyzing results • Report results with guardrail metrics • Define data-tracking requirements and required events • Maintain the test archive • Deliver actionable recommendations from experiments • Surface data-quality issues before decisions are made using that data
• Higher education in mathematics or a technical field • Knowledge and experience applying mathematical statistics and probability theory • Proficiency in data extraction, processing, analysis, and visualization tools: MS SQL, Python, and Excel • Deep experience running and analyzing A/B tests • Deep knowledge of marketing metrics and experience using them
