• Sophos is a global leader and innovator of advanced security solutions for defeating cyberattacks. • Interested in collaborating with exceptional individuals on cutting-edge software that safeguards millions of users worldwide? • The DNS Protection team is actively seeking an experienced senior software engineer to join our growing cloud development team and help us deliver high quality software for a DNS security product that’s used by thousands of customers around the world. • This presents an exciting opportunity to join a global software development team deeply committed to producing highly secure, top-notch, and efficient software. • In this role you will contribute to the design and architecture of new features, working closely with other engineers and product owners. • Operated within an open and collaborative environment, our team fosters a culture of continuous improvement that each member actively contributes to. • You can anticipate involvement in all facets of our agile development process.
🎯 Requirements
• 5+ years’ experience working with commercial software using either Java or Golang • 2+ years’ experience working with containers & microservices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes environments) • Extensive experience designing and developing complex software systems from scratch • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to tackle complex technical challenges • Experience with developing cloud services on AWS • In depth knowledge of different networking protocols (e.g. HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP) • Able to prioritize, focus and drive tasks to completion • Demonstrable expertise in building performant cloud scale solutions on AWS (Desirable) • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to measure and improve system performance (Desirable) • Experience in the development of networking or security products (Desirable) • Working knowledge of the DNS protocol (Desirable)
