• Hi there :) Thanks for checking in to find out about our open position; applications welcome even if some skills aren't fully mastered • About Us: At South Geeks, we engage top-performing Software Engineers, Security Experts, and Data Analysts from Latin America to join our clients’ teams worldwide • About the Client: Fintech innovator building a trusted trading platform for institutions and active traders, focused on performance, reliability, transparency, and API-driven solutions • About the Role: Backend/API Engineer on the Trading Platform Team to design, build, and maintain robust API endpoints powering a high-performance trading platform • Key Responsibilities: Build performant and reliable API endpoints; maintain backward compatibility; participate in code reviews; contribute to technical discussions; deliver new features and technical improvements; collaborate via pair programming and knowledge-sharing; write comprehensive tests and maintain code quality • Our Team: People-centered culture promoting personal and professional development, individualized support, and an empowering environment where everyone can thrive

🎯 Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience as a professional software engineer, with at least 2 years focused on backend/API services • Experience building and deploying backend applications for SPAs, mobile apps, or public API consumption using Node.js (experience with Ruby/Rails, Python/Django, PHP/Laravel, Go, or Elixir/Phoenix also considered) • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, with knowledge of typed languages • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc.) • Proven ability to write and maintain automated test suites • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset • (Nice-to-haves) Experience deploying and maintaining public APIs; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines; exposure to modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte, Ember); experience with gRPC and WebSockets; advanced SQL experience (MySQL preferred); background in high-frequency or algorithmic trading; experience in cryptocurrency trading or fintech platforms
