📋 Description

• Design residential solar PV systems using approved design software and company standards • Review site survey data, utility requirements, AHJ requirements, and customer information to create accurate system designs • Produce permit-ready plan sets and supporting documentation • Ensure designs comply with NEC requirements, utility standards, AHJ requirements, and company specifications • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, operations, installation, and sales teams to resolve design-related issues • Review project revisions, redesign requests, and correction requirements • Assist with troubleshooting design challenges and identifying operational solutions • Support quality control initiatives and maintain design accuracy standards • Help develop and improve design workflows, procedures, and operational efficiencies • Serve as a technical resource for design-related questions and project escalations • Assist with training, mentoring, and supporting junior design personnel when needed

🎯 Requirements

• Previous residential solar design experience required • Strong proficiency with Aurora, Solo, OpenSolar, AutoCAD, or similar solar design platforms • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new software systems quickly • Solid understanding of residential solar PV systems, electrical concepts, and design principles • Understanding of NEC requirements, utility interconnection standards, and AHJ requirements • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously • Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments • Demonstrated leadership abilities and willingness to support team development • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
