📋 Description

• Develop technical documentation and define configuration baselines for BLOS AP use cases under the BRIPES service delivery concept • Prepare and maintain technical documentation for STANAG 5066 protocol stack parameters and BRASS Enhancement 1 services • Analyze interoperability across STANAG 4538 and STANAG 5066 implementations and document configuration discrepancies • Optimize configuration baselines based on performance criteria • Maintain version control and configuration management of engineering documentation and technical artifacts • Set up testing environments using back-to-back modems, HF channel simulators, and over-the-air transmission • Troubleshoot interface and interoperability challenges involving STANAG 5066 and IP over HF modules • Develop testing approaches and validation plans for BRASS Enhancement 1 services • Participate in NATO experimentation and demonstration activities and validate service parameters • Perform technical testing, interoperability validation, and analysis of test results • Recommend corrective actions and optimized service configurations • Develop and maintain BRIPES Service Instructions covering formal messaging, e-mail, chat, and web services • Perform engineering assessments of service configurations and implementation approaches • Provide recommendations for interoperability issues and harmonized NATO implementation • Coordinate technically with NCIA stakeholders and NATO organizations • Prepare technical reports, engineering analyses, implementation guidance, and briefing materials • Participate in technical meetings, workshops, validation activities, reviews, demonstrations, and experiments • Report progress, risks, issues, and recommendations under NCIA governance processes

🎯 Requirements

• University Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, with at least two (2) years of post-related experience; or Higher Vocational Training with a minimum of five (5) years of post-related experience • Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in engineering, implementation, configuration, or support of military or secure communications systems • Proven track record of technical management work in IP over HF services based on STANAG 5066 • Demonstrated knowledge of STANAG 5066 Editions 3 and 4, including protocol stack, implementation considerations, and interoperability aspects • Knowledge of STANAG 4538 and STANAG 4539 • Knowledge of commercial and/or open-source application clients interfacing with STANAG 5066, including ACP127, STANAG 4406 Annex E, and ACP142 • Expertise in developing STANAG 5066-based testbeds and test setups • Experience performing international interoperability testing and analysis reporting • Knowledge of STANAG 5066 use cases, particularly in the NATO Maritime Forces domain • Strong knowledge of IP networking principles, communication protocols, network architectures, protocol stack configuration, and interoperability • Experience preparing technical documentation, engineering specifications, implementation guidance, or Service Instructions • Experience testing, validating, and troubleshooting communication systems • Good understanding of interoperability principles, configuration management, and multinational or multi-vendor communication environments • Familiarity with NATO communications standards, STANAGs, and secure communications architectures • Solid understanding of NATO operational standards, procedures, and communication protocols • English proficiency at minimum C1 level, both written and oral • Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams and stakeholders
