• The Compliance Specialist ensures adherence to all state and federal regulations governing special education and Section 504 programs within the virtual school environment. • Oversee compliance with all IDEA and Section 504 requirements. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation. • Ensure adherence to Oklahoma’s 10-day timeline for intake IEPs. • Provide ongoing monitoring, support, and training to staff to ensure the school’s continued compliance. • May assist with classroom instruction or student support as needed. • Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure all compliance requirements are met. • Track and document compliance activities using designated systems and tools. • Identify areas of noncompliance and work with staff to implement corrective actions. • Serve as a liaison between the Special Education department and other school departments to ensure effective communication regarding compliance matters. • Assist with special projects, data reviews, and other department initiatives as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. • Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate required; Special Education certification required. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in special education, compliance, or a related role. • Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) special education regulations. • Proficiency with EdPlan. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment. • Experience in compliance auditing or monitoring within a school setting (desired). • Prior experience working in a virtual educational environment (desired).
