• Join Stroke Aotearoa as a Community Stroke Navigator (Kaiārahi) • Work alongside communities - building relationships, identifying need, and supporting people to better understand and manage their stroke risk • Work closely with people affected by stroke, community groups, health providers, and other key stakeholders • Strengthen community resilience and wellbeing through your advice, guidance, and support • Help connect people to the right information and resources • Amplify local capability and maximise the impact of Stroke Aotearoa’s mahi across the region
• Experience working in the health, community, rehabilitation, or disability sectors • Independent self-starter • Ability to communicate with empathy and engage effectively across all age groups and stakeholders • Experience working with vulnerable and diverse communities • Confident facilitator / presenter / networker • Well-developed time management and organisational skills • Resourceful, self-motivated, and committed to making a difference for New Zealanders • Some knowledge of the effects of stroke and strategies for day-to-day management • Understanding of responsibilities to Te Tiriti o Waitangi • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Competent using the Microsoft Suite of products (specifically MSWord, TEAMS and PowerPoint) • Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team • Ability to travel regionally with some nights away from home • Full clean driver’s licence • Currently eligible to work within New Zealand
