📋 Description

• Reporters are responsible for gathering, verifying and utilizing information regarding wildfires • They monitor various sources including scanner traffic, fire cameras, user-submitted intel, official messages from agencies and automated bot detections provided by Watch Duty • Reporters collaborate and verify with one another and formulate an alert to send out to millions of people

🎯 Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older • A community spirit and the desire to help others in times of need • Experience monitoring or listening to emergency communications • Ability to work in a team and collaborate in real-time on Slack (our internal messaging platform) • The ability to multitask while dealing with high-pressure situations • A professional approach to disseminating vital information in a clear and concise manner • Nice to haves: Background in fire, dispatch, law enforcement, or first response; Experience reporting on disasters, with an audience, on Facebook, X, etc.; Understanding of technology, radio scanners, software engineering, etc; The willingness to assist with coverage outside your local area
