Swimming Canada is the national governing body for the sport of swimming in Canada. The organization supports athletes at all levels, from grassroots participation to elite competition, and is responsible for the development and management of programs such as high-performance training, para swimming, and coaching resources. Swimming Canada also organizes national and international swimming events, maintains records and rankings, and fosters a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

📋 Description

• Write and distribute media releases, web stories, and media notes • Create annual content calendars, for all web, social media stories, media releases, and partner activations • Prepare communications analytics and various reports • Ensure regular updates to athlete bios • Assist with writing and compiling media guides • Create templates and graphics • Create and manage media lists and lead daily, monthly and annual media monitoring reporting • Assist with digital content/asset management • Plan and execute social media content calendars • Lead social media planning, posting and monitoring/communication management • Develop social media campaigns for department and corporate initiatives • Monitor social media engagement and community conversations • Edit photos and videos • Analyze digital performance

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of one year experience in a similar role • Post-secondary education in journalism, or related program preferred • Very strong writing, storytelling and editing skills • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills • Experience editing photos and videos • Experience working with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Lightroom would be a strong asset • Strong verbal and writing skills in English; ability to communicate in French is an asset • Ability to work a flexible work schedule and/or overtime as needed • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
