swisspeace is a practice-oriented peace research institute that analyses the causes of violent conflict and develops strategies for their peaceful transformation. It produces applied research, develops peacebuilding tools and methodologies, provides training and mediation, and supports and advises state and non-state actors on conflict prevention, conflict sensitivity, dealing with the past, and statebuilding. An associated institute of the University of Basel, swisspeace works with the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, education and research authorities, international organizations, think tanks and NGOs to shape policy and practice in fragile states and gender-sensitive peace work.

📋 Description

• Leading the in-country coordination and technical implementation of the project activities related to the TVET component across national and sub-national levels in South Sudan. • Contributing to the development, adaptation, and implementation of electrical solar PV training curricula in close collaboration with international and national partners. • Coordinating closely with partner TVET institutions and instructors to support effective course delivery. • Leading the planning, coordination, and quality assurance of Training-the-Trainers (ToT) programs and capacity development initiatives in close collaboration with HFTM. • Ensuring training curricula, certification approaches, and learning materials align with national TVET standards and the emerging National Qualifications Framework. • Supporting institutional capacity strengthening of partner TVET institutions. • Contributing to strong collaboration between partner TVET institutions and employers to enhance training skills relevance, work-based learning placement mechanisms, and graduates’ transition into employment or self-employment. • Leading and coordinating project-related data collection, including surveys, and analysis for tracking purposes and in collaboration with partner TVET institutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in coordinating and delivering vocational training programs in fragile, conflict-affected, or developing country contexts. • Demonstrated understanding of competency-based training approaches, curriculum development, training quality assurance, and certification systems. • Strong knowledge about South Sudan, including its TVET system and governance structures, and are well-connected in South Sudan. • Strong cultural awareness and ability to work within different cultural contexts and in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. • Well organized and have strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and activities simultaneously. • Passionate about inclusive development, peacebuilding, and community-centered approaches. • Excellent written and spoken command of English. • Knowledge of Juba Arabic or any other local language is a strong asset. • Legal right to work in South Sudan.
