📋 Description

• Build and scale Talan's modern data platform • Work under the guidance of the Central Platform Team • Build the Databricks engineering framework • Establish reusable development patterns • Advance the core codebase • Develop scalable data solutions using modern data engineering practices and AI-assisted development

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer working with Databricks • Strong proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and Python within the Databricks ecosystem • Hands-on experience with modern IDEs, especially VS Code • Experience with version control workflows using Git/GitHub • Familiarity or enthusiasm for AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT for code • Experience implementing design patterns, reusable frameworks, and data pipeline modularization • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, platform-guided environment • Ability to work full-time within the UK time zone • Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or Medallion Architecture is nice to have • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data engineering, such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, is nice to have • Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP is nice to have
