📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end production of daily and weekly newsletters, including writing, editing, formatting, and scheduling content for send • Build newsletters in Sailthru with accuracy and consistency, ensuring all links, dates, and details are correct prior to distribution • Collaborate with newsroom staff to curate relevant local news content and package it in a clear, engaging, journalistic voice tailored for newsletter audiences • Maintain publishing calendars and coordinate workflows to ensure deadlines are consistently met, including in fast-moving breaking news situations • Monitor performance metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and subscriber growth using tools like Marfeel and Sailthru • Apply audience insights and analytics to improve engagement and content performance over time • Maintain and evolve newsletter templates as needed • Support updates to the homepage, social channels, Social News Desk, and other engagement platforms as needed • Ensure accuracy through thorough fact-checking, proofreading, and link validation prior to send • Manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced newsroom environment • Work closely with the Newsletter Editor and Engagement Producers to align on priorities and execution

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in editorial, newsletters, digital media, or a related journalism field • Strong writing and editing skills with solid AP Style knowledge • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Sailthru, Mailchimp, Listrak, MailerLite, or similar tools • Familiarity with analytics tools and basic A/B testing concepts • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments • Audience-first mindset with an interest in local news and community storytelling • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
