• Report directly to the CTO and lead the integration of AI/LLM capabilities (Claude, Gemini) across the fullstack platform • Pioneer AI-driven development: Lead adoption and implementation of AI-assisted workflows and the BMAD Method using specialized AI agents for planning, architecture, and development • Build AI-powered features that transform employee engagement and productivity data into actionable insights for HR managers • Architect end-to-end solutions from Rails APIs through Next.js frontend experiences, leveraging AI planning agents and context-engineered processes • Drive technical strategy and architectural decisions across Ruby on Rails backend, Next.js frontend, and PostgreSQL data layer on AWS • Mentor and guide engineers in AI-assisted development, PRD creation, architectural planning, and development story generation • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design to break down requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions • Foster an innovation culture emphasizing psychological safety, experimentation with AI tools, and continuous learning • Instrument features, monitor production health across frontend and backend, and lead architectural improvements using AI-assisted analysis
• 5-7 years of professional software development with fullstack experience across Ruby on Rails and modern frontend frameworks (Next.js/React preferred) • Strong AI-driven development experience: Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows, frameworks like BMAD Method or similar, and leveraging AI agents for planning, architecture, and implementation • Growth mindset and rapid learning ability: Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, embrace AI tools, and continuously optimize development processes • Strong leadership mindset - comfortable leading technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and taking responsibility for platform reliability across frontend and backend systems • Startup or small team experience where you've led technical initiatives, worn multiple hats, and thrived with high autonomy rather than rigid corporate structures • Customer empathy and understanding of how technical decisions across the entire stack impact end users • AI-first engineering approach: Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production applications and optimizing development workflows with AI assistance • Collaborative leadership approach to experimentation, learning, and knowledge sharing across the engineering team, especially around AI tools and methodologies • Experience with PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and modern deployment practices • Nice to have: BMAD Method or similar frameworks, AI agent orchestration experience, technical leadership in AI-enhanced environments, cross-functional exposure to product/design/DevOps, multi-tenant/background processing/event-driven architectures, interest in employee wellbeing and workplace psychology, experience with auth/SSO, performance optimization, or observability tools
