• Prepare and draft court documents, affidavits, and correspondence related to family law cases. • Assist in managing client files including discovery, disclosure, and evidence organization. • Liaise directly with clients with professionalism and empathy during sensitive family matters. • Conduct legal research on Australian family law legislation, rules, and precedents. • Support solicitors in preparing for court hearings, mediations, and negotiations. • Coordinate with relevant parties such as opposing counsel, courts, and external providers (e.g., psychologists, child experts). • Maintain meticulous records and ensure compliance with procedural rules and deadlines.
• Paralegal certificate or legal studies qualification (preferably from an Australian institution or with Australian law training). • Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, with at least 2 years in Australian family law. • Deep understanding of Australian family law including the Family Law Act, parenting and property proceedings, and court processes. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear and concise legal documents. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple matters simultaneously. • Familiarity with Australian legal practice software (LEAP, Smokeball, or similar) is desirable. • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively with remote teams.
