📋 Description

• Serve as outsourced Controller for a portfolio of US-based clients • Communicate proactively and participate in client calls and meetings • Onboard new clients alongside a US-based Controller • Build accounting processes, systems, and procedures for new client relationships • Lead special projects including system migrations, M&A preparation, budget development, and chart of accounts redesigns • Prepare and review timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and management reports • Provide strategic financial guidance regarding growth, investor reporting, and compliance • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals • Delegate daily tasks and review and approve work products for accuracy and quality • Coordinate workload across multiple client engagements • Organize work and team deliverables in Karbon practice management system • Allocate approximately 70% of work to client-focused activities and 30% to team-focused activities

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of overall accounting and finance experience • At least 3 years in a Controller role at a US-based public accounting firm • Experience supporting investor-backed (VC/PE) or high-growth businesses with > $5 Million annual revenue • Deep technical proficiency across US GAAP and financial reporting standards • Knowledge of US compliance including payroll, sales & use tax, property tax, and business licenses • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online/Desktop, and Advanced Excel • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and onboardings concurrently • Experience in a multi-client outsourced or CAS environment strongly preferred • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights • Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, integrity, and dependability • Humility and openness to coaching and critique • Positive attitude in communications • Must be based in India • Full availability from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time • This role does not qualify for the CPA experience requirement involving substantial use of skills relevant to CPA licensing
