📋 Description

• Provide independent oversight, technical guidance, and validation support for partner-led social activities in Terraformation’s Southeast Asia projects • Strengthen quality, integrity, and inclusivity of social components and ensure compliance with Verra VCS and CCB standards • Report to the Social Impact Manager and work closely with implementing partners and Terraformation technical teams • Serve as liaison with implementing partners and act as a quality-assurance resource for Terraformation • Review partner deliverables and produce technical comments, validation memos or summary reports, and risk/compliance alerts • Conduct field visits and produce field visit debriefs • Develop and deliver FPIC training materials and co-deliver at least one initial training session • Review social safeguard deliverables (Stakeholder Engagement Plan, baseline survey tools, Community Benefit-Sharing Mechanism, stakeholder mapping) and provide written recommendations • Support SBIA workshop preparation by developing draft materials and presentations • Provide briefing materials or slide decks as requested • Work part-time (estimated up to 10 hours/week) under an initial 6-month MSA contract with possible renewal

🎯 Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in social safeguards, stakeholder engagement, FPIC, benefit sharing, or community-based natural resource management in Southeast Asia • Expertise in gender equality and social inclusion within natural resource or climate-related projects • Knowledge of Verra’s VCS and CCB standards, or comparable safeguards frameworks (e.g., IFC Performance Standards) • Demonstrated ability to review and validate social deliverables (engagement plans, FPIC reports, grievance mechanisms, etc.) • Proven experience advising NGOs, implementing partners, or government agencies in a technical backstopping role • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; intercultural facilitation experience • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Filipino and Bahasa Indonesia highly desirable • Willingness to travel to rural or remote project sites • Proven ability to deliver technical comments, validation memos, field debriefs, and training materials
