📋 Description

• Expand and strengthen Holepunch’s core P2P networking and storage primitives • Build and optimize high-performance networking code with Node.js and JavaScript • Optimize network protocols for performance • Implement custom binary protocols and serialization formats • Apply cryptographic primitives for secure P2P communication • Profile and optimize networked systems • Build reliable systems on unreliable networks • Work with libuv and asynchronous I/O in C • Contribute to open-source P2P projects or networking libraries • Collaborate remotely with Tether’s global engineering team

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of P2P protocols, including Kademlia, BitTorrent, libp2p, and hypercore • Demonstrable experience optimizing network protocols for performance • Advanced JavaScript skills for high-performance networking code • Deep understanding of UDP and TCP/IP networking, including NAT traversal techniques • Experience implementing custom binary protocols and serialization formats • Familiarity with cryptographic primitives for secure P2P communication • Experience with performance profiling and optimization of networked systems • 5+ years of experience building production P2P systems or distributed systems • Experience optimizing JavaScript for low-latency networking applications • Knowledge of V8 internals and JavaScript performance characteristics • Experience with libuv and asynchronous I/O in C • Contributions to open-source P2P projects or networking libraries • Experience building reliable systems on unreliable networks • Experience with Node.js native addons and bridging between JavaScript and C • Excellent English communication skills
