📋 Description

• Own the data architecture end to end and set its technical direction, from raw data and pipelines to analytical models and reporting • Define how data is modeled across the company, including schemas, semantic layers, metric definitions, entities, and relationships • Own the platform roadmap, including building out the data lake and leading the migration from Dataform to dbt • Lead and grow the Data team, setting priorities, establishing how the team works, and developing each team member • Set and enforce standards for data quality, governance, documentation, and reliability • Own access to customer and other sensitive data and control warehouse costs • Act as the main point of contact for data across the company, translating Marketing, Finance, Operations, and leadership needs into a clear data direction • Present data and recommendations to the executive team, turning complex analysis into clear, decision-driving stories • Perform other assigned tasks

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field • Excellent SQL skills and strong hands-on knowledge of modern analytical data stacks • Strong background in data modeling and schema design, including dimensional modeling, semantic layers, metrics, entities, and relationships • Proficiency with cloud data warehouses and data services, ideally BigQuery and Google Cloud, along with dbt/Dataform and Git-based workflows • Proven ability to design modern data architecture, including building a data lake or lakehouse from the ground up and defining the technical direction for data pipelines and infrastructure • Ownership of a data function, architecture, or a significant part of one, including establishing standards for data quality, governance, documentation, and reliability • Demonstrated leadership of data specialists, including setting priorities and technical standards, mentoring team members, and supporting their development • Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets, ideally in e-commerce or another high-volume digital business • Strong understanding of e-commerce and subscription metrics, such as CAC, LTV, churn, and contribution margin, with the ability to translate data into business decisions • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership, and to present and defend data-driven conclusions at C-level • Excellent written and spoken English
