📋 Description

• Build and expand the case management program to meet the evolving needs of LGBTQ+ asylum seekers across the United States and at the Southern border in Tijuana. • Design systems for triage, risk assessment, and harm reduction to prioritize and respond to acute and ongoing participant needs. • Develop and implement strategies for scaling services and improving wraparound care. • Work with staff and volunteers to triage urgent participant needs, identify priorities, and coordinate timely responses. • Oversee staff caseloads to model best practices and remain grounded in service delivery. • Supervise, train, and mentor case management staff, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed service delivery. • Support staff in maintaining healthy boundaries and adopting burnout-prevention practices. • Foster a collaborative, compassionate, and accountable team culture. • Provide direct case management support when staff capacity is exceeded or in complex cases. • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with organizations across the country to connect participants to essential resources, including housing, food, healthcare, and legal services. • Serve as a key liaison between the Border Butterflies Project and external service providers. • Integrate trauma-informed care principles into all aspects of case management and staff supervision. • Implement organizational practices that prioritize participant dignity, agency, and safety. • Model and implement resilience and sustainability strategies for staff working with high-need populations.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in case management, social work, or related field, including direct service with LGBTQ+ and/or migrant communities. • At least 3 years of supervisory or program leadership experience, ideally in a nonprofit or community-based setting. • Masters of Social Work required. • Proven ability to design, scale, and implement case management programs in dynamic, high-need contexts. • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and risk assessment. • Skilled in triage and prioritization, with capacity to manage multiple requests under pressure. • Excellent relationship-building skills with diverse organizations and service providers nationwide. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance big-picture strategy and hands-on service delivery. • Must be fluent in Spanish and English. • Fluency in other languages a strong plus.
