📋 Description

• Contribute significantly to the architecture and long-term technical roadmap for the Phone Numbers Platform • Transition legacy systems into a modern distributed microservices architecture supporting global scale • Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, or internal LLMs to automate boilerplate, generate test suites, and prototype rapidly • Drive technical excellence and make architectural decisions balancing feature innovation with reliability and security • Partner with Product Managers to translate telecommunications regulations and customer needs into developer-first APIs and workflows • Mentor and uplift junior and mid-level engineers • Identify and mitigate scalability and security risks • Lead complex production incidents and focus on long-term remediation • Write technical designs, RFCs, and system trade-off documentation • Own end-to-end feature delivery and build robust APIs, microservices, and tooling for Twilio’s KYC and Phone Numbers platforms

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and developing highly available, high-scale, secure, mission-critical cloud-native enterprise distributed systems • Strong proficiency in Java or Python • Solid knowledge of AWS ecosystems, including Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, and Kafka • Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, microservices patterns, and highly resilient systems • Practical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor for software delivery, debugging, code synthesis, and prototyping • Experience building and maintaining high-volume public-facing APIs with a focus on developer experience • Experience with high-throughput data processing and storage solutions, including SQL/NoSQL, Redis, Kafka, or Spark • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD paradigms • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions through strong communication and technical credibility
