📋 Description

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. • Support month-end and year-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting requirements. • Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations. • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting. • Support financial reporting relating to mining projects, operational expenses, and project costs. • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and support compliance with ATO requirements. • Assist with GST, FBT, payroll tax, PAYG withholding, and other tax obligations. • Support income tax return preparation and liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and finance stakeholders. • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. • Process payments and maintain records for payroll deductions, payroll tax, PAYG withholding, and intercompany recharges. • Complete corporate card reconciliations and related payments. • Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations as required. • Maintain vehicle registers, toll accounts, and annual registration records. • Assist senior accountants with financial reviews and reconciliation activities. • Contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives within the finance function. • Perform other duties as required.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • CPA or CA qualification, or working towards this, is highly desirable. • 3+ years of experience in accounting, with exposure to Australian taxation requirements. • Experience in the mining or resources sector is advantageous but not essential. • Strong knowledge of Australian tax requirements, including GST, BAS, PAYG withholding, payroll tax, and related compliance obligations. • Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Pronto, or similar systems. • Strong general ledger, reconciliation, financial reporting, and month-end support experience. • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
