• 7-10 years claims handling experience • College degree preferred • Certifications/Designations: AIC, SCLA or Legal Principles, CCLA and PCLA of the AEI series, or CPCU to be completed in 2 years. • Meet the appropriate state licensing laws required to handle claims • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret policy language, endorsements, and contracts while applying them to the claim. • Analytical ability to determine coverage, complete building evaluation and calculate coinsurance for reserves and settlement. • Negotiation skills, human relations skills, analytical skills, organization skills.
