📋 Description

• Define and run Unit4’s human-AI interaction research agenda • Set research priorities together with the AI First program • Study how AI should interact and communicate with users • Investigate how agents present themselves, explain actions, and signal uncertainty • Study how trust between people and agents is built, calibrated, and lost • Examine AI’s cognitive and behavioral impact on productivity and decision-making in enterprise work • Help make human-AI collaboration safe, fair, transparent, and trustworthy • Turn research findings into principles and patterns for future AI experiences • Build relationships with universities and academic institutions • Assess potential research collaborations and internship needs • Provide subject-matter guidance without formally managing a team • Collaborate with architecture, AI research, information science, product, design, engineering, and responsible AI teams • Inform product usability and customer research

🎯 Requirements

• Some experience researching how people think, decide, or work with technology, from cognitive science, human-computer interaction, human factors, psychology, or a related field • Solid command of qualitative and quantitative research methods • Experience designing studies and experiments and drawing sound conclusions • Ability to own a research area, frame questions, set priorities, and work with limited guidance • Ability to translate academic findings into practical principles and recommendations for product and engineering teams • Ability to explain research findings to people from different backgrounds • Real experience studying how people and intelligent systems work together • Helpful but not required: research on trust, explainability, or human oversight of automated or AI systems • Helpful but not required: experience studying knowledge work or decision-making in organizational settings • Helpful but not required: academic collaboration, publishing, or university partnerships • Helpful but not required: familiarity with responsible AI principles or AI regulation • Ability or willingness to work in English • Potential security clearance and background checks for customer projects and sensitive data access
