📋 Description

• Architect, build, automate and scale tools used by product engineers for pre-production development and testing • Define and build the next generation of Upstart’s Ephemeral infrastructure (Kubernetes-based) • Partner with XCUT teams to ensure tools integrate seamlessly into Ephemeral Environments • Drive major improvements in tooling and infrastructure alongside teammates • Enable product engineers to rapidly spin up fully functional environments for development, preproduction testing, pen-testing, demos, and special use cases • Evangelize Ephemeral tooling by delivering best-in-class documentation and processes • Operate and maintain Kubernetes in production and ensure reliability at scale • Collaborate across teams to support Upstart’s AI lending products

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps/SRE role • 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes in production • Proficiency and experience with Golang • Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, EKS) in production environments • Expertise in Linux systems: architecture, administration, troubleshooting, and operations • Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Architect (CKA/CKAD) or equivalent certification (preferred) • Proven ability to inspire collaboration and stay engaged on a fully remote team (preferred) • Experience designing and building Kubernetes operators (preferred) • Strong CI/CD skills, including building pipelines with automated test coverage (preferred) • Broad DevOps expertise across scripting, IaC, automation, configuration management, and container orchestration (preferred) • Hands-on experience with tools like Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Artifactory, Harness, or similar platforms (preferred) • Ability to work East/West coast time zones and attend occasional onsite sessions
