• About Upstart • Upstart is the leading AI lending marketplace partnering with banks and credit unions to expand access to affordable credit. • Upstart is a digital-first company, which means that most Upstarters live and work anywhere in the United States. • Most Upstarters join us because they connect with our mission of enabling access to effortless credit based on true risk. • The Team: • Upstart’s Auto Refi + Auto Secured Personal Loans team is responsible for scaling our auto refinance and auto secured personal loan products. • As a Senior Engineering Manager on the team, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to execute projects across the whole stack. • You’re a self-starter who delivers work with quality, testability, resiliency, and maintainability in mind. • How you’ll make an impact: • Team Leadership • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on providing high quality solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: • Education & Experience • 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining large scale distributed systems in the cloud • 2+ years of management experience • Experience working in dynamic fast paced organizations • Technical Skills • Strong proficiency in any programming language • Experience with delivering full stack solutions to customers • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture • Leadership Skills • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading successful engineering teams • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality and timely delivery of work • Ability to thrive both in self-directed work environments and in collaborative settings, contributing positively to team dynamics • Other Requirements • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools like Jira • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
